Family tradition means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. For the Griffin Family, it means building the highest quality homes with the utmost integrity while forming lasting relationships with our customers.
More than 30 years ago, Jack Griffin moved to Appleton from Manawa, WI to pursue his love of carpentry. After a short time as a framing contractor, Jack’s endeavors quickly moved him into the custom home building arena as a full-scale builder. Throughout the years, Jack has been very involved in the Valley Home Builders Association including two presidential terms, and has made sure to keep his finger on the pulse of the industry. His involvement with all aspects of the company continues today.
While growing up on job sites watching his father and his skilled craftsman distinctively form each new home from sticks and nails, Brett Griffin knew that building homes would have some sort of role in his future. After going off to college to get a degree in finance and economics (and meet the love of his life, Amy see below), it became quite clear that home building wouldn’t just play a role in his future… it would nearly define it. His background and education combined perfectly to prepare him for the equally diverse responsibility as the owner of such a dynamic family-based company.
Sue Griffin (albeit the love of Jack’s life) spent a good amount of time and energy over the first twenty-some years managing the office aspects of the business for Jack while working part time at AAL (now Thrivent Financial) and sneaking in the management of her family of three children. While that should be enough for her to retire now, Griffin Builders unfortunately cannot function smoothly without her. For the last eight years, Sue has been involved full-time in the operations of the company. The peace of mind she provides our customers by always being there to answer their call and get them the answers they need is unparalleled.
As the only non-blood member of our building family, Amy Griffin got caught up in the act when she met Brett in college. After graduating a year behind Brett with a Sociology and Marketing degree, she enjoyed a couple various sales, promotion and management positions with three local companies including Kimberly-Clark until realizing that she could be of more value to the Griffin Builders family. Amy now manages the marketing aspects of the company and, in the past three years, offers our customers real estate services through Coldwell Banker as well. Helping to keep the entire new home concept in-house for our customers is something we have found to be quite valuable.
So now that you’ve had a chance to meet us,
how about returning the favor?
